About Stately-Albion

Company Background

Stately-Albion has a proud history that stretches back over 60 years. The company was born in 1963, when four skilled craftsmen from Premier Caravans near Bristol set out on their own after the Premier brand was discontinued. Renting a small farm building nearby, they built their very first 30ft mobile home. They chose the name Stately Caravans—no one remembers exactly why, but it turned out to be perfect, allowing them to create models inspired by Britain’s great stately homes.

As demand grew, the business quickly outgrew its early workshops, moving first to Pucklechurch on the outskirts of Bristol, and then in 1968 to a purpose-built factory in Abercarn, South Wales, where we remain today. The site itself is steeped in history, built on the former Prince of Wales Colliery.

Through the years, our homes have evolved from the early caravan style into today’s luxurious park homes and lodges—modern, bespoke properties designed for comfort, practicality, and a true sense of home.

In the 1970s, we became Stately-Albion, highlighting our proud British roots and growing presence in Europe. Even during challenging times, such as the recessions of the 1990s and 2000s, we continued to thrive—thanks to bold decision-making, innovation, and above all, a loyal and talented workforce.

Today, Stately-Albion is one of the largest employers in the village of Abercarn, with many employees having been part of the company for more than 25 years. This strong bonding spirit has always been at the heart of our success.

In 2023, we proudly celebrated our Diamond Anniversary, marking 60 years of craftsmanship, innovation, and dedication to creating beautiful homes. Blending traditional values with modern design, Stately-Albion continues to build park homes and lodges that meet the needs of today’s homeowners while offering all the comfort and security of a permanent residence.
